Squatting in general, no. It's not dangerous to hold squat position for 1 minute OR to do multiple reps of squats for 1 minute. However, if you're holding heavy weight while doing it, and you're not fit enough to be holding that much weight for so long, it could cause you some problems and strain your joints.
To protect your joints, warm up properly before any workout, and get your joints moving and lubricated. Don't workout with more weight than you are able to properly handle. If you're doing body-weight exercises, then just don't do too many reps or workout too long if you aren't fit enough to do so. It doesn't take a extra weight to result in repetitive use injuries if you aren't taking care of yourself.
