Your first mistake was starting your stretching at a 14g.
Your next mistake was using tapers.
No amount of blood or discomfort is ever normal. You have a blowout on your first stretch. Congrats.
Take out the jewelry and put in high quality normal earrings. Let your ears heal for a few weeks and do sea salt soaks. You don't want an infection starting in the open wound. After a few weeks of this, you should be fine to stop. After a week of not cleaning it, as long as everything is ok, you should be fine to start doing lobe massages with the jewelry removed. This helps break down the scar tissue you have caused by jumping 2 sizes. DO this for a few months. Yes, months. Then you should be safe to start stretching again.
When you do start stretching your piercings, do it properly. You should never need any lube or tapers. You should never feel any amount of soreness or discomfort. You should never skip sizes. You should start with 18g jewelry. You will also need to wait a minimum of 6 weeks between each size up. This allows the inside of the ear to fully heal and be ready for the next size up. You should be able to just put the new jewelry in. If you can't, then your body isn't ready to go up a size yet.
