You will need to grow your natural nails. Your ability to do this, assuming you are healthy & eat a healthy balanced diet, is determined by your genes. There are no "secret diets" or "miracle vitamins"- it is largely your genes. Start by taking good care of them, keep them polished to protect them (clear is fine if you don't want or can't wear color) and make sure to protect your hands with gloves whenever you do anything bad for them like cleaning or yard work. Give your nails a quick check every day and file any nick that could snag on something. Always have an emery board with you! Apply a good hand lotion every night at bedtime and use a cuticle cream if you want to. Never bite your nails or use them as tools. Slide a knife under a pop top to open a can, not your nail! Nails on average grow about 1/2" a month.
I have long natural nails. Part of that is genes and part is that I spend a few minutes on my nails every day. You need to add nail care to your daily routine. I change my polish every couple of days, but if I do a base, good quality polish & top coat, a manicure will last me a week & I do it myself. If you buy a good quality base and top coat (I like Essie) it will make cheaper brands of polish last a lot longer.
