many push ups should i strive for?
Im 56, tall & skinny. Play disc golf and lost 55 pounds of flab. Arms are very weak.
I started doing pushups on park benches in between holes of golf.
I am too weak to do a regular pushup so I have to put one leg sort of up.
Today I did 4 sets spread out over 35 minutes.
I make sure to get a full pushup, not the half ones.
I think today I did 3 sets of 10 with the 4th only 8.
My question is, should I adjust my leg to do fewer but harder pushups or is 10 a good number?
I use 2-4 different benches so my footing is not exact but I feel like its a good addition to just golf.
I try to play everyday but probably miss 2-4 days a month. More when it rains.

I say just start out with 3 sets of 10 reps of regular pushups. Once you can do 30 reps total, add a weight plate and do 3 sets of 5 reps. Add 5 pounds every workout.
