Aren’t abstinence only areas kind of dumb?

They tell people don’t use contraceptives yet at the same time you can’t get an abortion if raped as an early teen.

It's a cruel fact of life that the urge for sex is strongest when people are least capable of coping with the aftermath of consequences. You are probably ioo young to have any perspective on this.

Adolescent sex is like putting a chocolate cake in front of a 300lb. Overweight person with a sweet tooth and missed two meals. They might eat the whole cake in one sitting, say it was great, then deal later with the stomachache and the guilt.

You can get an abortion if you got raped. Is your right to do so.

What does either have to do with contraceptives? With abstinence you're choosing to not have sex; in a rape situation, you can't very well force the rapist to use protection. I'm not sure what you're asking.

Rape, incest and life of the mother issues are a statistically insignificant percentage of Abortions. It's a hollow argument to support the whole issue. Look up the figures. If you increase those metrics five fold, to compensate for under reporting, they are still a blip on the radar.

Also, telling early teens to not be sexually active is not a bad notion.

How are those positions in any way contradictory? Don't have sex unless you're willing to get pregnant, and if you get pregnant, see it through to completion. Contraceptives have nothing to do with rape, anyway. It's not like liberals take birth control pills just in case they get raped.
