Legally established "Border Crossings". Hey, we do it on the canadian border to prevent canadians from crossing with their illegal maple syrup. Canadian youths have calves the size of cantalopes from packing gallons of maple syrup and seagrams across the border illegally!

In most places it's called a DMZ. In this case it's a place the media comes to whine about the LAW

Um, yes, and it's pretty much what we've had for the last hundred years. "Open borders" and "closed borders" are just hyperbolic right-wing oversimplifications of the actual situation.

I'll tell you in a minute after I go look. Yeah, that's called Customs and Immigration.

Nobody is even suggesting closed borders.

The middle ground would be to follow the law. That means that people who wish to immigrate will make an application and wait until they are approved and their turn comes.

Not really, By definition, even a carefully controlled border is an open border. Trump has no desire to close the border even after the Wall is built. Immigration shall continue, but in an appropriately controlled manner.

Yes, quotas on immigration which we have always had but people from south of the border sneak in.
