The NRA says it's in "deep financial trouble" and may be "unable to exist." Will American finally get some sensible, common sense gun laws?
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has said it’s suffering from substantial financial issues that could cause the organisation to "be unable to exist".

No, the NRA will not go bankrupt as long as they are connected to the Russian Government who uses the NRA to sow discord among Americans, and unwitting American Gun Enthusiast keep paying dues.
Russian Spy, Maria Butina, infiltrated the NRA and arranged for trips for NRA political activist, Paul Erickson to meet Russian Officials in Moscow. Butina Emails confirm she was acting on orders from the Russian Government. She was present at many NRA internal meetings and worked with several NRA officials to attack the USA.

You are really scraping the bottom of the barrel if you are relying on "The Independent". The same paper thinks that Palestinians are innocent protestors. That Jeremy Corbin is not an anti-Semite and that America is the worst country in the history of the world. Maybe next time use a source that is not renowned for its biased position on most matters.

They are spending record levels.
That's from a court filing in a proactive counter suit saying that the other side is frivolously taking them to court. They are probably going to win. But you can count on most of that being spin and about the local chapters.
Their real power has always been from membership numbers and that's way up too. They really don't spend that much of lobbying because they don't have to. They can email 6-8 million members and have them do it.

Well maybe the NRA should stop spending all that money supporting Trump.
The NRA long ago stopped being a club for sportsmen and became a Republican lobbying organization, which is why the number of hunter's who support it goes down every year.

To the NRA: I am a gun owning progressive. I wish you were a non-political entity with the purpose of encouraging responsible gun ownership. You are neither. You promote irresponsible gun ownership all the time and run political attack adds as if you were a GOP PAC.
It is in large part the NRA that gives all gun owners a bad name, even the responsible ones. I really think now is the time for you to close down shop completely. This would leave a big space open for a new and hopefully responsible group to pick up the slack and help gun owners rather than hurt them.

where do they get the millions they give to political campaigns?
