Is it racist to avoid black neighborhood for safety reasons when looking for an apartment in a new city?

You should hear the things people saying when they move to NYC to pursue a career. Can't live here, not there, etc. because those neighborhoods are black.

These are mostly educated liberals who reject those neighborhoods. Its interesting how white liberals never go near black people's neighborhoods yet show up at anti-Trump rallies proud to show how politically correct they are. Haa haa, I point out their hypocrisy and laugh at them while they stammer "but... but..." and I say, "no, put your money where your mouth is go live in that neighborhood, rent is cheaper too and nice black people live there" "EFF YOU RockIt" is what they say.

Strike that nerve hard. Call out your friend's hypocrisy.

    Depends purely on your reasons.

Yes. You have predetermined that a neighborhood is dangerous simply because of the color of the occupants.

Let's say it is "racist" will that stop you? Would you put your own safety at risk, or the safety of your loved ones, so you're not a "racist"? I don't think so. If you would then you deserve the Darwin Award that's coming your way like a number of liberal idiots who have ended up raped or murdered because they loved "diversity" and hated "racism", so thought nothing of waltzing through rough ethnic areas at night.

It is sensible to avoid living among a group who commit a high rate of violent crime and especially an area where you'll stick out like a sore thumb in.

Do not judge by the color of people skin, you can't really tell who's evil by their skin color. Check the area crime rate, and move to the safest location.

    No, it's common sense.
