are European countries like France mostly "Liberal"? why?

No. In fact, France is very right-wing right now. Emanuel Macron, France's president, is a staunch conservative. Why else do you think Trump likes the guy so much, even if Macron doesn't reciprocate Trump's affection with quite the same level of enthusiasm? Just like in the United States, conservatism is on the rise in Europe, as well. The French's election of Macron is hardly the only example. Brexit is another example. All of the nationalism we're seeing in Italy and Greece and throughout much of Europe, particularly in regard to refugees, is also part of this conservative tide in Europe.
