A thing is good because it comes from love, or is beneficial. That is the same as "it is loved by God because it is good". God is love.

Please update with a specific definition of what a god is.

If possible, include some evidence that this specific god DOES exist outside of the human imagination.

Once you have done this, people can begin to figure out if this god loves things.

I have heard rumours to the effect that "God loveth a cheerful giver", but to whom is that cheerful giver giving?

if a god is defined as Absolutely Perfect, then that god lacks nothing, and needs nothing to be given to Him/Her/It/Them.

The community may define a thing as "good", if it aids in the survival of the community.

A source of clean water would be considered good, even if no gods exist, to love it or not love it.

God's love and Nature's love are not the same. Nature is cold hard and indifferent. God is warm, soft and lovingly concerned. Could it be due to the fact that we are only going to be here for a moment and God is concerned that it be a lovingly warm experience even if nature has made it cold hard and indifferent? Or is God just Nature showing us it too can be warm and loving even when it is cold and indifferent?

As gods never existed outside the minds of their human con artist creators, neither.
