Why have liberals made it impossible to live comfortably without going in debt for a college degree?

Remember back in the 50's 60's, 70's, 80's , and most of the 90's when you could have a family, own a home and a new car with good work ethic and high school diploma

The decline of the single family income is not the result of liberal policies. In fact, it's more the result of conservative policies. Chief among these are the attacks on unions. For decades the conservative movement has attacked unions with everything they have. The decline of unionization in America is largely what has driven to low wages for unskilled and semi-skilled workers. Conservatives have also opposed minimum wage increases. The current minimum wage is, I believe a little over $7 an hour. If adjusted for inflation from when it was introduced it would be over $10 an hour.

Liberals did not raise the cost of college. Executives bloating their salaries did that. I watched one particular executive position go from $52,000 in 1972 to $250,000, a house and other perks for their family members and additional supporting staff to do his work for him in 1995. His predecessor got $78,000 and did a 10 times better job. That was just one fat cat- not a liberal. The dot com boom was NOT a liberal campaign and it raised the cost of housing 10 times what it was. The so-called oil crisis of the 1970's is still affecting energy costs and cost of all production and you cannot pin that on any liberal.

It's liberals who want public college and conservatives who insist education needs to be a business.

Even many people WITH college degrees don't live comfortably.

This is because a college degree no longer means anything.

Having a college degree used to prove that a person is very intelligent and hard-working, because you couldn't get one without those attributes.

Now that pretty much anybody can go to college, and 40% of Americans have degrees, it doesn't mean anything any more. There are some real morons with college degrees. They've been completely dumbed-down and devalued.

the jobs that were once the staples for high school kids to get their feet in the doors of the working world have either been regulated out of existence or turned into careers by mandated minimum wage increases...

ever notice how so much so-called "progressive" legislation ends up increasing the culture of dependency?

ever notice how many politicians who push those so-called "progressive" policies profit greatly from that culture of dependency while their supporters remain dependent generation after generation?
