Scotland has thousands of miles of very scenic roads.

Be aware that it has some very remote areas where fuel supplies are few and far apart, and that in some rural areas religion is taken very seriously and all shops and petrol outlets close on Sundays. Don't let your tank run low.

Do read the rules for using single-track roads with passing places. The more remote parts of Scotland have many of these and tourists causing a nuisance through not using them properly are a common complaint among locals.

For mountains, go to The lake District, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

The west coast and north have good routes for motorbikes, but go out of season to avoid holiday traffic.

Oh, plenty, all over, outside the towns. You can drive for miles and see only glorious scenery, a deer, and a red squirrel.
