I put a small roast in the oven about an hour and 20 minutes ago. How long before I can taste the broth?

It's a beef roast, by the way!

    Depends on how fatty the beef is. Generally, you roast beef, fat side up, so as the fat melts, it flavors the meat. Did you add some liquid to the pan? You will have to pull the roast out of the oven, transfer the drippings to another pot, add some things to it and cook it down.

    you can taste the broth any time. whole junks of beef can be eater rare...remember steak?

    Depending on how big the roast is, it might be done..large junks of meat generally take 20-30 minutes per pound at 350 degrees.

    What kind of roast? Pork, Beef, Lamb? At what temperature?
