Can you propagate hens and chicks with a leaf cutting like other succulents?

I have a hens and chicks plant in a small terra-cotta pot sitting in my kitchen window. Over the past view months the plant has grown tall. I’m worried that it is just going to die without flowing. Is there anything I can do to save it? Or can I take the leave and propagate them like there succulents?

    You can't, unfortunately.

Usually you propagate them from the offsets which grow around the main plant (the "chicks"). If you don't have any of those, I have heard that if you pinch out the flower stem then it will grow a small number of tiny offsets around the main rosette before the main rosette dies, so I'd try that and then carefully pot up any offsets which grow.
