If hiring black people based on merit isn't a problem and white people aren't racist, then why do white people hate affirmative action?

Affirmative action is preference of skin color over merit.

    Person A) Very well qualified

Person B) Technically qualified, but a minority.

Affirmative action is hiring person B.

I oppose it *because* I'm not a racist. Let black people succeed or fail by their merits. If racism holds them back, call it out and prove it.

Because affirmative action is based on race, not merit. It is the very definition of institutionalized racism.

Because Affirmative Action has nothing to do with merit.

Usually it is about hiring or promoting of minorities in spite of better qualified white candidates being available!
