What does it mean when someone calls you a fake person?

I assume that you are trying to pretend to be other than who you truly are. It could be as simple as a statement of lack of trustworthiness (you say one thing but do another, you lie). fake=pretend, not real.

like you’re acting really nice to a person’s face but then go ahead and talk **** behind their back. it’s like you’re not honest and you act like a person you’re not. however it’s important to consider the context. if someone is calling you fake because you act different around other people i guess that’s justifiable but if they’re saying you’re fake because they think you’re not the person they think you are it’s a clear red flag. Noone knows you better than you do and if you honestly feel like you’re being yourself and they’re insisting that you’re not and they know you better than you it’s a sign they don’t deserve your time.

Taking the classical meaning of the word "fake" it is a totally meaningless statement, unless you have deliberately changed your identity.

I note from some answers that the meaning of the word "fake" seems to have changed its meaning recently, possibly only for Americans, and possibly after the frequent wrong usage of that word by Donald Trump.
