If you and your 3rd cousin do a DNA test could the doctors tell you are related? Or is there not enough DNA for them to determine that?

    yes they can tell you are related. They can tell you are not as closely related as parent and child or brother and sister, but they can definitely tell you are more related than you are to a random stranger you see in the street.

    Definitely can tell in almost all cases. Happens all the time, actually. It is remotely possible that two such cousins could share almost no genetic information from the common ancestor but extremely unlikely. There is a bit of the lottery aspect to it (random chance is involved). Much less likely than winning the lottery though, so thus not likely at all.

    yes, they could tell if you are cousins

    but if you were banging your 3rd cousin it's ok it's legal
