It is not about forgiveness. Institutions are not your mother. You have to "rebuild" your credit. Pay off the house that they foreclosed on. There was probably an amount due that you never paid. Otherwise, you would have qualified and sold it. Get a job, live cheap for a while. Budget. It has been several years so if your current income will allow you to get a credit card, get one - JUST ONE. If it won't allow it, get a debit card. Buy and pay off BEFORE the due date. Pay your bills on time or just before they are due. Your record won't change - both issues are a matter of public record but, you can rebuild your credit over time. Not without a job however.
