Don't forget that North America includes Mexico. So there was some use of metals. There were pictographs, a very rudimentary form of writing; and among the Aztecs, practical math.
What did they not develop?
There was no melting or smelting of metals. There were no books or scrolls, or anything like that. They did not have animals for doing labor, like horses or oxen; and no herd animals. There was little if any use of the wheel. Most tools were at the stone age level; metals were used more for ornamentation, copper and gold. They did not develop sailboats in North America. They did not develop glass-making, though they had ceramics.
And BTW they got along just fine without honeybees, which did not arrive until the Europeans imported them.
