I just removed an adult false widow spider from my house (in UK, lived in house for years, first one seen). Are there likely to be more?

Read the information at the attached link from the British Arachnological Society. It may put your mind at rest. The second link is from the same organisation and is a PDF document about one of the three species of false black widow spiders.

It is possible there are more, I just let them stay, they are good pet insect control.
You do realize they are quite harmless. Out of the way, just leave them undisturbed.

I have genuine black widows, I even let them stay around if they are out of the way.
This is Wanda, a female western black widow that lived in my bathroom all summer, ate her share of crickets:Source(s): Been around spiders 50 years.

Yes, there is likely more. When you see one, there are most likely others.

Probably, but they are nothing to be very concerned out anyhow. They just want to be left alone and eat your bugs.

There could be more. Spiders usually like to invade peoples homes when is warm or cold. But due to it being the first time you have seen there it might be less likely for there to be more.
