Is there much difference between erecting statues of Confederate soldiers on US soil, and erecting statues of ISIS soldiers on US soil?

Both fought against soldiers carrying the stars & stripes. The main difference is that Confederates killed far more American soldiers than ISIS could ever dream of.

The north fought the south because they were taking away their citizens rights to have slaves. Isis kills Americans for no reason.

Wow. The abject stupidity of this question just boggles the mind.

Who do you think erected these statues and why do you think they were erected? These were erected by citizens of those states whose ancestors fought honorably for their states and they were put up to honor those men and their sacrifices.

You might want to also note when most of those were erected - at the 50th and 100th anniversaries of the end of the war.

    Pea-brain.

Yes there is. Those confederate soldiers were also Americans who believed that their states had the rights to determine their own futures without the interference of the federal govt. They fought for those rights and lost a long and bloody war to the federal govt. ISIS on the other hand is a multinational terrorist organization whose goal is to bring in some end times caliphate and destroy any modern culture and opposition thru terror, murder and destruction.

There is a difference: one is part of US history and one isn't. If you're specifically talking about Robert e Lee, he helped fight in many early USA wars and helped keep the USA sovereign. The only reason why statues of him are being targeted is because some people read read fake news that trump removed a MLK bust in the oval office. Snopes has debunked this, but many black liberals bought into the fake news and teamed up with far left groups to retaliate by removing Robert e Lee statues.

Both are better people than current demoKKKrats. Matter of fact, they were all demoKKKrats to begin with, created the Klan, started most of our wars, etc....

  • The difference is Confederates stopped killing people when they lost. ISIS still are killing people. So if you put up ISIS stuff you'll probably get put on an FBI watch list.
