Why do girls love hugs ?

My wife wants me to hug her all the time. Why does she love it so much ?

Update:

I'm a girl I do love hugs but not every 10 minutes it gets annoying to me.

    For most people, it feels like a hug transmits thoughts of caring. Most people like that.
