How long do germs from human urine live?

I am a person who struggles with mysophobia and there is a certain event from my past that I feel is causing it. When I was a freshman in high school, I had a major problem with bullies. There was one day when I was in the bathroom and someone splashed me with water out of an unclean toilet. I was fortunate enough to have a change of clothes with me, but being at school there wasn’t much I could do about actually cleaning myself up. I had to just change clothes and go on about the rest of the day. I do not know if any of the property I had with me (backpack, etc.) got wet. I was too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it. It has been nearly 15 years since this happened, but to this day I still get a sense that any germs I may have picked up that day could still be spread all over everything. Does anyone have any tips for handling this? Also, do germs live that long?

Except in very rare circumstances, urine is sterile.
