Govt. .. Can cops stop violent crimes from being committed, or would that be considered 'racial profiling' and of course that is a 'no-no'?
All the cops can do now is take a report after the deed has been done.

That is what cops do, pick up the pieces, fill the body bags and file reports after the fact.
Now you know why I carry.

What universe do you live in where racial profiling isn't enthusiastically practiced?

What exactly are you saying? if you're suggesting that the police should arrest people who they think look as if they might be going to commit a violent crime, based on their perceived race, then certainly not.

Nothing can stop violent crimes completely. But cops can (and do) prevent crimes and reduce crimes. They can patrol trouble areas as a deterent. They can inform public of scams. They can get repeat offenders off the streets. They can work with other community organizations to identify and address the causes of crime. And none of those things require racial profiling.
