I purposefully ignore her paintings. Her macro flower paintings are great, but they are everywhere. I went to her museum in new mexico and loved it, it had a few of her floral pieces, but I loved her sculptures and the other pieces that were inspired by the local landscapes.
In general, people like artists because they like the art. For famous painters, like O'Keeffe, people love them for what they are famous for, and for her its her vagina flowers. For other people, like Dali, its his melting clocks. For Escher is his weird mid tricks in his pieces that people are drawn to. All of these people have done things that are not in their specific style, but they are still really great. Dali has done some great sculptures, and Escher has fantastic portraits and landscapes.
