Because its apparently OK to abuse the people who hold the power.

Just like women can say men should be killed and nobody flinches but if a guy says a women deserves a whack it becomes a national incident.

Paula Dean was publicly broadcasted and sold an international brand, Louis Farrakhan is exercising his freedom of speech just like any racist Neo Nazi advocate. No station wants to be associated with racist views and lose it viewers.

Here's the thing. It doesn't matter how bad, racist, or generally evil anyone else is, as none of that excuses in the SLIGHTEST the racism expressed by Ms. Dean.

Yes, there are worse racists than her. But, even someone who is a little bit racist is still evil and a rotten person.

When it's this kind of situation, here's the thing about being a majority... It comes with the benefit of being able to laugh off/brush off such idle threats. Only an idiot would believe there is anything to worry about that bluster when you outnumber them. What he said might be terrible, but there is no way his statement is anything but fantasy.

The problem however with someone from said majority making a comment like Paula Dean is that it is (in this case she is) a member of that group that could potentially encourage and validate others with the same attitude and encourage increased racism against a minority who is already forced to exist on a lower rung and does not need people trying to beat them down further. Again.

It didn't benefit her to use that word... she could have just as well simply described the person as black, thus using the description actually needed for the police. The N word

    Or simply put...

If you're a part of Group A, which contains 50 people, then aggressive words from Group B, which contains 5 people, is a nonissue provided no action has actually been taken. But aggressive words from Group A toward Group B, a group that has been badly abused by Group A in the past, is far more of a threat due to their weaker position.

Because he didn’t use a racial slur. If he did then it might be different.
