It's a standard twelve step program. Each location will have a different feel. It'll likely be very nice, and you can try an open meeting. You don't have to talk at all. Others will tell their stories, usually trying, failing, trying, while looking sad. There'll be coffee. As each group of people is different, I couldn't predict regarding your community. I've never been to that specific one but have been to others. I don't care for the confession and other rituals. This group is not on that subject but nicer, something like children of dysfunctional families. In any case, it's not a diet program per se, more like gateway religious. You'll still need to diet and exercise. There's no way to avoid hard work to achieve a long term goal. If practicing restraint is difficult for you,vwork on that one problem in all aspects of life. In other words, select your own one step at a time, and it works if your work it.
