Is it too late to start ballet for figure skating?

I've been figure skating for a while now and my coach and my mom think it's a good idea for me to take some ballet over the summer, I'm 13 would that be too late to get some decent skills in ballet??

It will help your balance, grace, and strength. Trust me, you are probably not going to get asked to be a lead in the Moscow Ballet. You are just looking for the skills and benefits of the training.

Yes it will help you. Look for a teen beginner class in your area. Look for what is offered for the summer since most schools are wrapping up their season.

a ballet TEACHER or COACH would be the best person to decide if you can still benefit from such training.

You're only getting the additional skills and poise to use in figure skating, not to become a prima ballerina. Go for it.

If your coach thinks it's a good idea, then perhaps you should think about it. Presumably it's intended to help you as a figure skater, not turn you into a ballerina.
