I don't have any kids yet (because I'm not married and won't have kids outside of wedlock). But if I did have a daughter, and she was 16, I would not let her date anyone over the age of 18, until after she turns 18 first. It's illegal, in my state (in the USA) for someone who is under the age of 18 to date anyone who is over the age of 18. And if I had a daughter, she would not be allowed to sleep with anybody or have sex outside of marriage, regardless of her age. I don't believe in having sex outside of heterosexual marriage (partially due to my religious beliefs). If she's married, she should have sex with her husband and no one else.
If I had kids, I'd raise them to be God fearing, and to live by what the Bible says.
Edit: Back when I was in Job Corps, in 2005, we were told that the legal age in Indiana was 18. A little bit ago, on Google, it said that the legal age of consent in Indiana is 16. I don't know if the laws changed since then, or if what we were told was wrong.
But I still would not let my daughter, if I had one, to date someone over 18 if she's under 18.
