Their idea of "fixing" is making everyone who works pay for it.

So, you want your catastrophic coverage back? The one with the $10,000 deductible?
Typical conservative, voting against your own self-interest as well as voting to hurt other people.
What is wrong with you?

Neither party is working on the root cause. Both are talking about insurance rather than the ridiciuluous pricing of medical care. Medical care is usually an inelastic commodity so market forces cannot be relied on. You don't shop around for the best deal when you are having a heart attack or suffered a compound fracture. Also do you really want a discount pacemaker? Prices for the exact same treatment vary widely even in the same city. Take a look at the link for a report on how widely these prices vary.
Solving that problem would save a TON of $ for the people. Its sole cost would mean the Medical care & Big Pharma execs might have to forgo a new S-600 with a moonroof every years & settle for one only every other year.
Which makes sense. And the ones who don’t work should be covered too because most of them have a legitimate reason for not being able to work.
