You are first talking about a SHE and then you are talking about a HE. Is SHE the BOSS of HE?
PHONE BACK and find this out. IF she is the EMPLOYER, She can OVER-RULE him.
He is Probably the TEMPORARY Warehouse manager(someone who has forgotten how to work). Maybe his main job is working on the computer ordering in stock & SALES.
Tell her over the phone what happened...you came ready to work and he wanted you in a suit.
Tell her from you experience, working in a suit is just slowing you down.
. Anyone can dress up in a suit, but suit people do not know how to WORK. This is physical labor. Steel toed shoes would be more appropriate than just sneakers.(but you can get steel toed sneakers) so the outfit would be the same.
But not rags for clothes.Nobody would hire you. That is too casual.
. Being dressed in clean casual attire IS FINE for backroom work. White shirt is fine.
. Coming in wearing a suit for a Laboring type job is OVER THE TOP. You are not ready to work. Meaning a waste of time.
. I would say "Phuck them then". & move on. Their loss. Obviously HE is clueless (Old school training). Or maybe you were to REPLACE HIM AS HEAD of Assembly as he was going too slow because he was in a monkey suit.
. Sales is different than assembly. Chances are that is where he should be. On the floor, keeping his hands CLEAN not working.
. I have worked for such people, I knew my place and even while in my coveralls was asked questions on the floor because NO Salespeople were around. I supplied my own coveralls and gloves which are not company colors...so to be asked on the floor must mean I looked like I could help. As there was nobody else around servicing that department.
. Make your case and if your resume is as good as you said, you will be called back. You are there to WORK...not just put in the hours pretending to work.
Be "THAT LITERAL" TO HER. CHANCES ARE SHE KNOWS HE IS DOGGING IT. It can't hurt you any. She knows by what you said you are more interested in work than DogFucking around. That is what you are going to get paid to do. Honest Work. That is what she is paying for.
. I have done this enough times to over rule the self proclaimed warehouse managers on how to run the operation efficiently.I don't take B.S. from anyone. Especially if their ideas are a hindrance.
. When you get called back, relations with monkey man will not be good(but he is another employee); just so long as your relationship with the owner are good, who cares? You each got your separate jobs. You do what you were hired to do.
Sometimes the slaves are more dedicated to the success of the operation, than those higher up the ladder. The owner can see that.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Maybe ADD "I came ready to work right [NOW]" not to waste time being interviewed again. I THOUGHT that is WHAT YOU NEEDED. If you have a PROBLEM with THE FACT I WAS READY TO GO TO WORK; THEN I DON'T "WANT" TO WORK FOR YOU.
You are the one being selective of the EMPLOYER now, you have turned the tables on them. This shows you have that kind of confidence that chances are you will be picked up by some other employer QUICKLY. YOU are not BEGGING THEM for a job . They lose the advantage.
It is GAME PLAY. You are there to win(and they want to hire winners) If they chose not to hire you, you accept that like water off your back...no big deal. Your competition will get my services. They know that and did not realize that YOU are smart enough to know that too. There is more Respect for you now.(because "you know you are a valuable asset" [Certainly this could be all B.S. but they don't think your Level of personnel is that SMART to play the "game" at this level] You don't need to say any more than that. They got to gamble with letting you go.
. You did not promise any more. You knew the value of you.
That alone impresses the sh*t out of them.
I have been hired to jobs WITHOUT A RESUME, without a monkey suit. Just there at the right time when they needed somebody with 2 arms and 2 legs and wanted to work. My resume I scratched something together (pencil and paper) 3 months after working for the company as they needed some stuff to put in their computers. I worked for another 2 years until the company sold out.
. Another company I worked for(5 years) went through 6 training Warehouse managers while I was there, so I was the more seasoned than the managers. They ASKED me for advice. I did not want the manager job...I chose to be Foreman/Shipper/Receiver because I had flexible hours.
I have also been refused because I was OVERQUALIFIED for the position. I knew more than THEM.
So, it can be a detriment for the short sighted employers that "want to learn it for themselves, going through all the mistakes" Been there, done that and FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER.
You got to let them grow themselves. They are the boss. "Then I respectfully decline to work here."
Next time go back dressed as a Viking, with a bloody battle axe on your back....mumble something about crowded subway....
Phaggots don't wear a suit. Maybe a dress? Not to worry. He is sitting on a CARROT up the bung hole
After your phone call, you let them stew with that "readiness to work line"
Move on. Forget about them.
I never had the problem with the dress. Runner, patched jeans, and a decent non dress shirt.(I hate buttons) so a pull over, sometimes unshaven, and a "don't give a sh*t attitude". I don't bend down to kiss any bung holes.
Each interviewer is different. They know their jobs are repetitious B.S. simple tasks.
