There's a whole genre of 'tropical' cocktails based on rum and pineapple juice. They go together really well, and the pineapple juice hides the taste of the rum. Back in the 1950s/60s there were 'Tiki Bars' with a Polynesian or Hawaiian theme were a guy could get a girl totally snockered on drinks that didn't taste like they had much alcohol in them.
