The motormen are constantly accelerating and slowing down
when it is obvious by the light signals ahead that they can easily
travel at a steady slower speed with no need to repeatedly
accelerate and break, and, in some cases they could just coast
on the train’s weight.

Are they simply being impatient in their driving manner or can
this behavior somehow be good for the motor’s and system’s
operability and longevity?
