Is Los Angeles pretty much like new york with just less subways ?

It's crowded, expensive, and huge just like new york. I see no difference in the cities other than cali having nicer weather with a much smaller subway system.

Really? You see no difference in the 100+ mile sprawl of LA and the compact nature of NYC?

    Not at all

The difference is that in NYC the wealthiest people of the city live IN the city

L.A. is nothing like New York, and the people and culture are very different, too. And they don't call it "cali". That's a city in Colombia.

The only similarity is that there are many New Yorkers there. There is no centralized area like Manhattan. Because L.A. is 450 sq. mi. I am not aware of any subway in Los Angeles. I left there around 1990.

Los Angeles have been building an extensive subway/commuter rail system. Much of it has been in operation for quite a few years. Will never be as big as New York's, but it is still impressive.
