They won't, people will import them, make them, 3D print them. They are very simple machines.

And those who cannot get their hands on one, .........(all 6 of them or so), will resort to explosives, gas attacks, cars, petrol bombs. ET AL.

Go after the PEOPLE who are morons, not the tools they abuse.

They don't eliminate black market sales but they hamper them in a number of ways. First off, all guns begin as legal guns. If we can prevent the diversion of legal guns into the illegal market then that will choke off black market sales. For example, one proposed gun control regulations to limit the number of guns which a person can buy, either during a single visit or during a certain time period. If people can only buy a certain number of guns then that limits the illegal supply. Second, new laws can deter people from making illegal sales and make it easier to rest those who do. For example, a law that every gun sale requires a background check would prevent many private Sellers from unknowingly selling guns to criminals. It would also discourage some unscrupulous private Sellers from engaging with a Criminal Market. Finally, it would make it easier to arrest those who knowingly and flagrantly cell to criminals.

They don't. And unless you make millions of more people with mental health problems included in the background check database requiring more background checks won't help. For example, should school personnel be required to report students to the data base?

They don't. Thank you for proving my point. A lot of murders occur from behind bars.

It won't. Democrats know this. A disarmed society is every criminal's dream.

    • heh, like japan & taiwan & signapore & much of europe.

      disarmed is civilized,

  • Well to start with, you could prosecute the people who sell guns to terrorists and gangsters, instead of patting them on the head and giving them a flyer for next week's gun show.\

Right there, the threat of getting cornholed would likely deter many Republicans from selling guns to anyone they can find with cash.

    Prevent? Probably not.

But in the long run perhaps decrease the supply which would increase the price and maybe make it tougher for someone to illegally purchase a black market weapon.

Philly DA orders PD not to make any pot arrests regardless of quantity.

So pot's going to be much more widespread in society soon --

and it has been found to be beneficial / medicinal.

      -------

so i wouldn't compare pot sales and laws too closely to those of guns

Oxycontin is 10x stronger than heroin. Legal opiates have created an epidemic, but it's a different situation. Part of it IS legal availability, but part of it is peer pressure from doctors. It's not too different from the black market.

Yes. Right now they buy guns legally. Remember, no background checks on private sales...people with felonies can buy guns in private sales.
