Such as

Robert De Niro as Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull (1980)

Care Blanchett as Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator (2004)

Charlize Theron as Aileen Wuornos in Monster (2003)

Sean Penn as Harvey Milk in Milk (2008)

Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady (2011)

Daniel Day Lewis as Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln (2012)

Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything (2014)

Gary Oldman as Churchill in The Darkest Hour (2017)

I think the best thing is, the actors can watch interviews or footage of the person, in order to get it right.

Of course a bad thing is people can always compare them to the real person.

Is it difficult for an actor to play a real person? Is it better performance as a real person rather than a fictional person?
