Over many years of learning to cook different delicious food, I've got loads of books that I mainly get from thrift shops or Amazon pre-loved, or passed on from family, a range of cuisines from around the world- and I do like ones with lovely pics! However, I have never found one single book that meets all of my cooking interests, plus new cookery books with lots of pictures are very expensive.
I find loads of great ideas online too, including vids if I need detailed instructions.
I tend to start with an ingredient I want to use, like a veg, fruit, meat or fish I like to eat, or a dish I've enjoyed eating at friends or at a resto, sometimes something I've eaten overseas on holiday and want to re-create.
I think you're looking for inspiration, so try to nail down what you want to eat- healthy meat and dessert recipes. Maybe start with what you mean by healthy- low fat, low sugar, low carb? Using more veg and fruit? What is to your taste and culture- mediterranean, middle eastern, asian, north american, italian, etc, etc.
For example, I really like Thai food so to cut down fat I use low fat coconut milk, spray oil for frying, lots of veg.
