I had a rabbit in an apartment, but it was allowed. I would not recommend them as apartment pets. I wouldn’t recommend them as indoor pets at all, to be honest with you. They are as large as a very small dog, and need just as much space and attention. You will have to build them a huge multi-level NIC grid cage, AND give them time out of it to run around. (Otherwise they can develop bad habits like chewing/pulling at the bars, thumping when you’re trying to sleep, etc) Even when exercised enough, they may still do these things. While their poo is innocent enough, their urine smells horrendous and their litter box must be changed at least every other day to avoid an ammonia smell which is very bad in a small apartment. And although you can litter train them, you’d better hope your doesn’t spray urine on the walls anyway. Then there’s the chewing. Unlike dogs, you can’t really train rabbits not to chew. They can damage an apartment very easily.
