As I have been saying for years, feminists only want equality when it suits them. Let's see feminists open jam jars, get spiders out of the bath, or lift something heavy.
Joking aside, there is nothing wrong with female empowerment at all, but let's not let it swing too far the other way. Men haters are just as bad as male chauvinist pigs, and feminists can be just as lewd, lecherous and patronising as men can. Nowadays it seems almost de rigeur for men to be portrayed as witless chumps (especially in adverts and comedies) and this isn't really on.
We're not chumps at all. Some are but so are some women. We play just as much of a part in female empowerment as women do in ours. From the mostly male surgeons who cut out breast cancers, to the sons and husbands who then take these women to chemotherapy. And the husbands of the likes of Queen Elizabeth or Margaret Thatcher, who have always supported them.
Behind every great woman is a great man.
