I put them in the smoker. You can buy a cheap bullet smoker for about $35 at wally world. If you somke them over a good wood, and until they are falling off the bone, you will not need any bbq sauce to enjoy them, and you can put it on as you eat if you prefer.
A smoker will tell you, barbecue sauce is a shortcut to cover meats that are not properly cooked low and slow, or otherwise. Good luck, God Bless.
