advantages: It is easy. it is available to everyone with access to a computer; even those with mobility problems. You don't have to deal with creepy salespeople following you around.

disadvantages: Only available to those with a computer and credit card/bank account. (yes, there are many many people even in the affluent "West" that don't have either of these things). Can't "sample" or touch the items you are considering. Must wait for products to arrive in mail
