Consider this type of question from a METAPHYSICAL (meta = "beyond") standpoint and you will find the answer within yourself.
For example: If you consider the manifested (made physical) human form as the "house" of which you speak, then the spiritual essence of what "you" means is technically "jailed" inside this body-house. The question uses "your" for the house, so that gives a whole new meaning to the idea of being "jailed" inside someone else s "body" (house)---like becoming an obsession or maybe being an empathetic person who is able to so intensely sense others feelings that the you might sometimes lose a sense of your own feelings.
One way to transcend a seemingly inferior or unpleasant or "limiting" condition in what we call life is to be fully ZEN (in the moment), much like Nelson Mandela was able to surpass the effects of cruel-intended apartheid which led to 20 years behind bars for no reason other than skin color. Find the blessings wherever you are and focus on these positives while letting go of all other feelings of strife, lack, limitation, or fear and doubt. There is no prison for the person who can find this inner peace.
