If you don't believe in God, then forcing yourself to believe in God when really you don't would make your a charlitain and I'm pretty sure God dislikes pretenders and charlitains.
Better you be who you are and then if it turns out that God is real "I'm sorry, I didn't believe in you but now I see my mistake, now I see that I was wrong, please forgive me"
And you will be forgiven. The god of the Bible isn't malevolent, he doesn't want you to be forced into anything, he wants you to acknowledge your mistakes, to be honest and kind and ask for forgiveness for the wrongs that you have done and to forgive others for the wrongs they have done you.
In short, he wants you to have a good life and that doesn't have to involve forcing yourself to believe in him either.
