Worth it to travel to NYC for 0 days?

Me and my boyfriend are planning to go to NYC for our 3rd Anniversary. But my parents wont allow us to stay there for a day. so is it worth it to travel at 6am and travel back home at 9pm? Will we travel most attractions in NYC?

If you plan it well, it's worth it, definitely. No you won't "visit" most "of the" attractions in the city, but you'll see enough of them if you plan to.

Skip it. You're making an international flight which means customs and immigration delays coming and going, and traveling from the airport to the city and back.

What you are asking about is visiting NYC for most of ONE day.

As you failed to say from how far you will be coming in, there is no way to help you. Touring NYC is not restful, so you'd want to arrive for a full day in the city well rested.

Yes. I've done it. It's not ideal but still a good day trip especially for younger people in good health.

Aside from the fact that 12 or so hours in NYC will let you see not much more than a few tourist traps, there's the question of how many hours you need to travel back and forth. If you live in New Jersey or Connecticut, it might be worth it. If you live much further than that, then you're pretty much spending your whole day in transit. Don't think you can move as if by magic from one tourist spot to another. NYC has an excellent rapid transit system, but it's generally tied up in traffic.

You will see some things, but there is no way you can see everything in 12-hours

And as keith asked - how old are you? Hotels won't allow you to register if one of you isn't at least 21.....

Yes, the Manhattan skyline is well worth just experiencing. See it from Top Of The Rock and the Staten Island Ferry.
Walk in Central Park as its surrounded by the city's interesting buildings.

You can't really see all of New York City within a day. A weekend would be better, but you could find the best attractions and do that. I think it also depends on the travel time. If it is not that long, I think it's worth it.
