When you’re a new website, it can be difficult to rank well on Google and other search engines. You lack the history, backlinks, etc. that established sites often take for granted. The good news is that new websites can rank well quickly using proper SEO techniques.
The key to early ranking is cultivating the proper keyword list and doing on-page optimization using those keywords. Why is this the fastest? It all comes down to the keyword list. You’ll want to use a tool such as Google keyword tool or a third-party program such as SEMRush to create a keyword list made up of mid-volume and low competition keywords.
Odds are the established websites have the high volume and high competition keywords locked in because of their own SEO efforts, backlinks, etc. That doesn’t mean you can’t forge ahead using keywords they forgot or didn’t focus on. Create the list and then use those keywords on category and product pages as well as informative content like blogs.
Once that’s done, go to Google search console and fetch as Google. This lets you request indexing for your main site and connected pages for both mobile and desktop. It may take a week or two for Google to take notice, but you should begin ranking for those keywords. This is the beginning of your SEO juice and now you can focus on backlinks, etc.
When you’ve developed good rankings and backlinks, you can begin going after the higher volume keywords and knock the established websites off their perches. The timeframe for ranking well depends on the keywords you choose, your optimization efforts and the competitiveness of the industry. It may not be easy, but it’s the fastest way to reach the top.
