Did Hillary Clinton lose the 2016 election because she did not obey her husband former President Clinton when he gave her a strategy to win?

while Funkadelia's answer is the most accurate in it's detail, it boils down to this: Trump's campaign energized the GOP base like never before and the "fallen angels" of human nature finally found an outlet.

Mrs. Clinton didn't "lose" the election at all. She won a clear plurality of the votes cast. THAT is where the issue should have ended. However, FIVE times now in U.S. history (11.1% of the time), the absurd Electoral College has chosen to give the role of president to the #2 candidate. She won 48.2% of the vote, only 1% less than Slick Willy did in 1996, & 5.2% more than he did in 1992. It will likely take the U.S. 100 years or more to live down the slap it gave itself in the face by letting the Orange Fraud into the White House. Was it "hire the handicapped" gone mad?

FBI investigation; especially James Comey's announcement just 8 days before the election.
Her image as the establishment candidate in an election year when people wanted change.
Media focus on Trump
Sexism in the media
25 years of Clinton baggage. Funny how during the campaigns there was little coverage of Trumps enormous baggage.

She lost it because of the intervention of James Comey. The numbers say it all, and it's dishonest to say otherwise.
