Does Navy pay for sailors to go home for Christmas? (eg. flights etc)?

Do you realize how many millions of dollars would be spent on tickets if they did this for those in the military. They only pay for transportation when traveling on orders.

It does not happen for personal travel which this is considered. If they are authorized to take leave during Christmas then they pay for any travel themselves. The military is 24/7/365 so they do not always get Christmas off anyway.

If someone is telling you they need money for a flight then it’s a scam and that person is a fake

Please do not send any money to anyone who claims they need it and will pay you back later " when they get their paycheck cashed ", etc.

A.) The Navy does not send anyone home for Christmas. Period.

B.) You CAN request leave over the Holiiday period. Sure. If you have some leave time on the books, orrrrrrr---your command allows you to "into the hole" for leave. (rare but not unheard of)

C.) Your vacation trips, come out of YOUR pocket. The Military pays for the transportation when you are traveling to bases on ORDERS, to your next assignment.

D.) If anyone is telling you , that they need money to take leave............ask them what they have been doing with their bi-weekly paychecks, since they've been in. Investing in stocks and bonds?

No. They can take a hop on a military aircraft, if one is going where they need to go.

However, if you met someone online that is claiming to be a Sailor in the US Navy and is asking for money, it is a scam.
