Can I see the EU "cutting their nose off to spite their face" Yes. They are behaving like a spoilt brat who picks up their ball and goes home because the other kid won't let them win at all costs.
Like the result or not it was a public vote and the UK is leaving the EU. It is beneficial for both sides now and in the future to talk and agree to come to terms, no one expects the other to like everything agreed, that is what happens in a divorce which is why an independent court of law is used but the court of law in this case is the EU, not independent and working only for one side
The UK has already said they are prepared to fulfill their financial commitment to already agreed to terms and they have already set out and set up terms for already settled EU citizens in the UK to enable then to remain ( personally I would not have done either) especially as some countries in the EU have told British citizens they either leave or become citizen and renounce their British citizenship ( financially for many like Spain that choice they made will wreck their economy as British pensioners with pensions paid to them from the UK being spent in Spain so it is a win /win for Spain at the moment and businesses which are British owned and run for decades many close down, job loses and these people return to the UK ........ it is bullying tactics. ........ and who wants to be 'friends' with bullies.
All the large contributors to the EU will have to pay more, in fact ALL will pay more, Ireland already had a large increase in membership fees and they are not a large contributor, ALL the countries who get more than they pay in will have less given...so it is affecting ALL the EU countries, so of course they don't like it.
So in answer to your question no I don't the EU commission HQ like their salaries, like their lifestyle, like their free private education for their children, like shopping in their own exclusive shopping centers with no taxes paid on goods at all, like their free cars, free gyms and beauty salons, free housings all freebies all paid for contributing members fees and I am surprised some UK investigative journalist hasn't brought this to the UK public's attention as it is a sickening waste of billions for the few.
