Why are homes in Victoria, British Columbia so expensive?
I'm thinking of moving there but the places there cost so much.

A few reasons:
- since the 1960's, and the Agricultural Land Reserve, farm land cannot be built on, limiting the availability of land for building,
- Victoria has an awesome climate, so, loads of people want to move there; far more than the available lands for sale can accommodate, and
- so many people have moved there that the supply of places is limited, which causes prices to rise.

Supply and demand. Lots of people want to live there, so sellers can ask higher prices.
