Is it illegal to show other people someone else's nudes?

So this guy sent nudes to me and I showed my best friend them. Only her though and she didn't tell anyone else is it illegal?

Generally yes, but depends on state law. If the photos were given to you, you obtained them legally and you can do what you want with them. If you post them online for the general public to see, you *may* be in violation of your states revenge porn law if it has one. If you just send them to your friends via text or email, you are probably not in violation of any law.

    You could be sued.

It is illegal and people have been sued for doing so and the one who posted the nudes was found guilty in criminal court and was sued in civil court and the person who posted the nudes was settled the suit before it came to court.

Assuming everyone involved is over 18 it is completely legal. The photos were given to you.

If anyone is under 18 all bets are off.
